About BayPort Credit Union
BayPort Credit Union was founded in 1928 when twelve shipyard workers pooled their money to form a credit union to help those in need.
Originally initiated as the Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company Employees' Credit Union, the institution changed its name to BayPort Credit Union in 2007.
After merging with several regional credit unions, BayPort operates 29 branch locations in Greater Hampton Roads, expanding across the Southside communities of Virginia.
