About United Heritage Credit Union
Austin-based United Heritage Credit Union opened its doors in 1957 as Military Federal Credit Union, offering military personnel savings and loan services.
It changed its name to Bergstrom Federal Credit Union in 1969 and grew into United Heritage Federal Credit Union in 1993 by expanding membership to hospitals and select employer groups.
After converting from a federal charter to a state charter in 1997, the credit union opened membership to the Central Texas, Austin, and Tyler communities.
Today, United Heritage operates as a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative.
