About RTP Federal Credit Union
Founded in 1968 by a group of federal employees, RTP Federal Credit Union was established to bring credit union membership benefits to the Research Triangle Park area.
The member-governed, not-for-profit financial cooperative operates three full-service branch locations throughout the RTP and greater Triangle area.

Employers and groups
- Individuals associated with one of over 300 sponsored businesses and associations in the RTP and greater Triangle area are eligible for membership.
- Individuals are eligible for membership by joining the North Carolina Consumer Council.
Family and household
- Immediate family members of current RTP Federal Credit Union members (spouses, parents, children, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren, stepparents, stepchildren, stepsiblings, and adoptive relationships) are eligible to join.
- Persons living in the same residence maintaining a single economic unit with a current member (including domestic partners, foster children, legal guardians, and roommates) are eligible to join.
