Formation Credit Union is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was established in 1939 by employees of Ethyl Corporation as the Ethyl Corporation Credit Union.
After renaming to Louisiana USA in 1980 and acquiring Capital City Press FCU in 2015, the credit union changed its name to Formation Credit Union in 2025.
